TEV High School Scholarship Announcement
The Turkish Education Foundation offers scholarships to high school students in need of financial aid who are: committed to Ataturk's principles, patriotic, of strong and reliable character, and academically successful. These scholarships are also available to those studying in technical and vocational schools. CANDIDACY CONDITIONS:
- Financial Need
- Candidates must:
- Need financial aid due to a lack of assets and income
- Not be working for a salary at any job
- Not be the recipients of any other scholarship
- Academic Record:
- For students newly registered in high school:
- Candidates must have superior entrance scores (for candidates who took the entrance test) or diploma grades from middle school
- For those in the middle of their high school education:
- Candidates must not have failed any course in the previous year, must have a GPA above the class average, and be in a position to study in a higher grade.
- Candidates must be of strong and reliable character and be patriotic
APPLICATION :
- Scholarship applications must be submitted between October 1 and 15. All students should learn the number of scholarships available from their School Administration and submit their application forms to that School Administration.
- Those who recently registered for high school should submit three forms: the “Student Identification Document” which is provided by the Scholarship Committee; a document which shows school entrance score or the student's diploma grades from middle school; and a document proving the student's enrollment in classes for the coming year.
- Those who have already begun their high school education should add to the above a transcript showing courses taken in the previous year(s) with corresponding grades and GPA, and a document that shows that the student has been passed to the next class.
- All students should supply a document that shows the financial status of their families (such as a monthly income statement, any family estate deeds, and income tax receipts for those who are self-employed) to be submitted to the Scholarship Committee.
SELECTION :
The Scholarship Committee will select appropriate candidates, along with a reserve list, and will send all documents, including the Student Identification Document, student grades, documentation of financial status (for recently registered students), school entrance scores or diploma grades, a class list which shows the candidates' ranks in their classes, and, for those who have already completed one or more years of high school, a transcript from the previous year) to the TEV Administration. The results will be announced by the TEV Administration in a written format to all scholarship recipients. DISBURSEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP :
The Scholarship award begins a month after the completion of all needed documents. All scholarships are for one academic year (the 9 months between October and June).
